Key tips to nurturing your skin during winter

Winter is here, and you know what that means—frost, cold winds and dry skin! The chilly weather tends to suck the moisture out of our skin, leaving it feeling parched and irritated. We've got some practical tips to help you take care of your skin during the winter season. Say goodbye to flaky skin and hello to a hydrated and glowing complexion.

Hydrate
Hot chocolate sounds tempting, but don't forget to get your water in too! Staying hydrated from the inside is crucial for healthy skin, especially in winter. So, grab a water bottle and sip away. If you struggle to remember, use your smart phone to set hourly reminders!

Keep It Gentle
Picture this: you step into a steaming hot shower, hoping to thaw your frozen bones. Well, guess what? That hot water is also stealing your skin's moisture! Instead, opt for lukewarm water and try to limit your shower time. Use a mild, moisturising cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils.

Moisturise
Okay, let's get real—winter skin needs some serious hydration. Find yourself a thick and creamy moisturiser (such as our lanolin cremes) that really pack a punch. Slather it on right after washing your face or hopping out of the shower. We're talking about sealing in that moisture like a cozy blanket for your skin.

Don't forget the Sun!
We know the sun is on holiday during winter, but those sneaky UV rays can still wreak havoc on your skin. So, don't skimp on the sunscreen! Grab a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and apply to your face and hands.

Be Gentle with Exfoliation
Exfoliation is great for shedding dead skin cells, but during winter, you need to be gentle. Say no to harsh scrubs that make your skin feel like sandpaper. Opt for a milder exfoliator or a gentle chemical exfoliant. Once or twice a week is plenty—don't overdo it!

You can conquer the cold and keep your skin looking its best. Remember to hydrate, moisturise like there's no tomorrow, protect yourself from the sun, and give extra attention to your lips and hands. Embrace the cosiness of a humidifier and exfoliate with care. Winter won't stand a chance.
